I’m really excited to bring you this press release from The Hidden Levels, media outlet turned publisher! The Hidden Levels has long supported indie games with YouTube videos, reviews and PR marketing, but is expanding this reach again in 2018 to become a games publisher. Kitty, the Founder and Managing Director of The Hidden Levels is a Welsh Gaming Network member and hails from South Wales, so we’re all really happy over here to see this progression and are looking forward to their future titles.
Here’s what Kitty has to say about this exciting new development:
Media outlet gone rogue – The Hidden Levels announces their entry into the world of publishing!
A media outlet defied the laws of the industry today by breaking out and entering the world of video game publishing. The Hidden Levels started as a team of passionate gamers who wanted to help promote indie and AAA games alike. After over two years of creating content and livestreaming, we decided that we wanted to be more actively involved in the industry.
A lot of indie devs we spoke with suffered from not being noticed. After seeing the current shape of the market where a lot of indie gems are buried amongst piles and piles of monthly releases, we felt it was necessary to evolve to the next level and help make a change.
The first game that The Hidden Levels will be bringing us is The Void Rains Upon Her Heart which is coming to Steam on 14th February. This is available to add to your wishlist on Steam now and buy from the 14th at $7.99 with a 15% launch week discount. This bullet-hell game appropriately releases on Valentine’s Day, and what’s more romantic than helping an alien girl take control of her heart and showing monsters how to love again. Love ’em up and don’t let her heart break! If you’ve got a gaming partner this could be a fun Valentine’s Day pick too!
The game is releasing in Early access with a community driven development process, with 14 monsters, 42 gifts and 2 playable characters. It does have some artistic nudity in it (which can be toggled off) and contains themes of anxiety, depression and suicide, so keep that in mind.
The Void Rains Upon Her Heart is being developed by Veyeral Games and we’ll be playing through the title at a later date and sharing our thoughts on it.
To give you a taster though, here’s what you’ve got to look forward to:
