University of South Wales’ game development, art and design students are presenting their work in a public venue this week over at The Arcade Vaults, High Street Arcade, Cardiff, CF10 1BB.
This is a free event, so come down to The Arcade Vaults on Thursday the 30th of May 2019 between 4pm and 8pm or Friday 31st of May 2019 between 10am and 6pm to view what the students have to offer at the Games Graduate Showcase 2019.
Last year we visited the showcase while it was at Tramshed Tech and got to see many different projects, including a game called Dodgebrawl, designed for the UK Games Fund competition Tranzfuser, it went on to win the public vote at Eurogamer Expo in October 2018. This year will include students competing in Tranzfuser once again, in particular I look forward to having a chance to play Recoil by Superiority Complex which is an FPS game where you control animated guns instead of actual people, which is a pretty fun twist on the genre.
I also look forward to the digital art which will be on display. There is wonderful talent coming out of University of South Wales every year with graduates going onto joining big gaming companies such as Rockstar and Ubisoft, it is well worth having a look in case you see some of their style of art in upcoming AAA games.
This event is completely free, and as it is in The Arcade Vaults, there will be a bar at hand for drinks and brand new food menu serving a variety of delicious, delicious noodles.
