Cardiff has ranked as the second best city for gaming in the UK, new data has revealed.
Liberty Games have analysed gaming metrics such as download speeds, data access, number of gamers and hours spent gaming to discover the nation’s top gaming hot spots. You can view the findings from the interactive gamers index here.
The data found that Cardiff is home to 68% gamers with an average of 14.9 days spent gaming per year overall.
Cardiff also boasts an average download speed of 61 Mbit/s and 96.9% 4G signal from all operators in the city which makes this a great gaming hotspot.
Cardiff was narrowly beaten by Brighton, which has been named as the best gaming hotspot in the UK with a final index score of 99/100.
Cardiff received a final index score of 78/100.
Other cities included in the nation’s top ten gaming hotspots are: Belfast (scoring 78), Newcastle (scoring 69) and Norwich (scoring 68 on the gamers index).
Despite not making the top ten gaming hotspots, Plymouth was revealed as having the fastest average download speeds – an essential requirement for downloading and playing online games – with an average speed of 67.5 Mbps.
