NSW Zelda Island Trials

All aboard the cruise to The Legend of Zelda: Island Trials, our next free Nintendo event at The Arcade Vaults in Cardiff, on Saturday, 28th September, 11:30am to 5:30pm.
 
We’ll have free-to-enter high-score competitions for Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a tournament for the most excellent ‘Checkerboard Chase’ multiplayer game from Kirby 64, as well as the chance to try out indie hit ‘Untitled Goose Game’, plus Nintendo Switch and Retro free play.
 
…not to mention there’s two full floors of video game consoles to play on below us thanks to The Arcade Vaults. See below for details.
 
There’ll be prizes for the best performing players in our competitions, as well as our monthly raffle for our membership card holders.
 
 
Zelda: Link’s Awakening – Dungeon Dash High-Score Competition Rules / Info
 
– Complete our ‘user created dungeon’ as quickly as you can.
– Attendees can try as often as they want, but please be mindful of those waiting to have a turn
– Starts: 12:00PM approx
– Ends: 5:00PM.

Prize #3 – Game Boy Bottle Opener
 
 
Zelda: Breath of the Wild – Paraglider Course High-Score Competition Rules / Info
 
– Travel to Eventide Island and take on the Paraglider course
– Glide through as many consecutive rings as you can
– Attendees can try as often as they want, but please be mindful of those waiting to have a turn
– Starts: 12:00PM approx
– Ends: 5:00PM.
 
Prize #1 – £10 Nintendo eShop code
Prize #2 – Darksiders Warmastered Edition [retail ver.]
Prize #3 – One item from the NSW Grab Bag [see below]


Kirby 64: Checkerboard Chase Tourney Rules / Info
 
– Tournament with 4 players per match
– battle it out on a large checkerboard island suspended in the air. Fire in different directions to make pieces of the board fall in an attempt to be the last one standing.
– Top 2 players to progress from each match
– Single or double elimination. Will depend on turnout.
– Starts: 12:30PM#

Untitled Goose Game and Free Play
 
– Come try out this quirky sandbox stealth game where players control a meddlesome goose tasked with completing a series of challenges designed to harrass and inconvenience NPC’s.
– Other free play options on the day will include a Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo a dock / tv combo for anyone wanting to dock their Switch and play.

The NSW event on the 2nd floor is 100% free. For access
to two floors of video game history, there’ll be a small fee:
 
– Both Floors until 5pm: £4 for 12 years and under
– Both Floors until 5pm: £6 for adults
– 1st Floor after 5pm: £4 for all
– Ground Floor after 5pm: Free with a drink
