InstaSpeedathon 2020 has been in the works for quite some time, and it’s now with great pleasure we can announce that submissions for the 2020 event are now open.
To submit a run, you can go to the InstaSpeedathon 2020 event page and click “Submit Run” and fill out all the details (please be aware that a valid speedrun.com account is required to submit a run). Runners for the 2020 event will also need to sign up to the event by filling out the Sign Ups form as well. For information on how to fill the forms, click here
What is InstaSpeedathon?
InstaSpeedathon is an annual speedrunning marathon aimed at showcasing a variety of speedruns. Since 2019, we have also been raising money for charity which has also been a big success, and 2020 will also be hosted as a charity fundraiser as well.
InstaSpeedathon 2020, specifically, will be our third take at the event, with many changes happening this year to make the event even better. This year, we will also be raising money for Everyone Can, which is something we announced not too long ago.
When is InstaSpeedathon 2020?
InstaSpeedathon 2020 will be happening in February 2020. As we are still currently waiting for the dates of Half Term, the exact dates are yet to be confirmed. We do know, however, that it will either be 14-th-17th of February or 21st-24th of February, but an official announcement will be made when we can confirm more details.
Where will InstaSpeedathon 2020 take place?
The main channel for InstaSpeedathon 2020 will be the official InstaSpeedathon Twitch Channel. The entire event will be broadcast here when it takes place.
We are, however, looking to host the 2020 event in a physical venue. At the moment, we have not confirmed whether this is the case but we will be announcing our decision on this very shortly. If, however, a venue will be used to host InstaSpeedathon 2020, we can say it will be in Wrexham, North Wales. Details of the venue will be released when we know more.
How do we submit to InstaSpeedathon 2020?
To submit to InstaSpeedathon 2020, you will need to have a valid speedrun.com account, then you will need to go to the InstaSpeedathon 2020 event page. There you can find all the information you will need for submitting.
Make sure to fill in as much detail as possible in the submission form, as well as filling up the sign up form. Information on how to do this can be found here.
You only have until December the 29th to submit a run, so make sure you submit in enough time if you wish to take part.
What changes are happening at InstaSpeedathon this year?
There are many changes which have already happened, and many more still to come.
One of the biggest changes we made this year was considering the possibility of hosting the event at a physical venue. Though this is still to be confirmed, this would help make the event bigger and better than ever before, and would allow us to look at alternative places to host the event in coming years.
The second addition was the sign up form for submissions, as we were given feedback to make the submission process better for speedrunners at the event. This allows us to better communicate with successful speedrunners who will be taking part in runs at the event.
More announcements are still to come as well, but these will be made in due course.
